frequently asked questions

A paint primarily contains fillers, polymers/resins and other chemicals. The two primary component left behind after the paint is completely dries are fillers and polymers/resin. The polymers/resin forms a film on top thereby giving the paint the necessary sheen and other properties.

The paints are graded on the following factors, namely, spread ability, nail hardness, sheen, washability , UV resistance, smoothness, fungus -algae resistance etc..

Dry distemper, acrylic distemper, oil bound distemper, acrylic emulsion, luxury emulsion , exterior emulsion etc..

Anything which gives opacity to a surface is known as a paint. For e.g. Lipstick is a paint, Nail polish is a paint etc.

The surface has to dry, clean, stable and free of any loose particles. The various types of surfaces are plastered, P.O.P., pre-painted , gypsum, wooden surfaces etc..

The surface needs to be absolutely smooth and must be non – water absorbent. Conventionally, it is achieved by using putty to smoothen and by applying primer it is made non-water absorbent.

It can be made so by sealing the pores / gap between the particles either with a water-based /oil based sealer or primer. Alternatively, they can use MAGIC for surface preparation.

The various forms could be CLING ON, SELF ADHESION, DUE TO WATER ABSORPTION, AIR DRYING, HEAT DRYING ETC..

The paint which has exterior grade polymers qualifies to be called an exterior grade and vice versa. We can grade it further as UV resistant, washable, abrasion resistant etc..
